Out, damned gyat!

Act IV, Scene I

[Thunder. Enter the Third Apparition, a little bearded man crowned, with an Ashley Furniture catalog in his hand.]

TRUMPETH

What is this

That rises like the Skibidi of Ohio

And wears upon his baby-brow the round

And top of sovereignty?

ALL

Listen, but speak not to’t.

THIRD APPARITION

Be callous, mercurial, proud, and take no care

Who whines, or resists, or where deep-staters are.

Trumpeth shall never vanquished be until

Great Bannon’s Wood to hip Dance Inane Drill

Shall come into him.

]The Third Apparition descends, flipping through the catalog.]

TRUMPETH

That will never be.

(with further apologies to James Joyce. And Shakespeare.)
